# 3490  Geneva Takes Wayne in Finger Lakes Contest

DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - There were five games played today and one was a close one. Winners today were Geneva, Bloomfield-Honeoye, Gananda, and Greece Storm.

Wayne at GenevaWAYNE-11 at GENEVA-15 -  This game was close with many lead changes up to the fourth quarter when Geneva outscored the Eagles 6-2 to give them the victory. Geneva (11-4) extended thjeir winning streak to seven as they saw 3g-5a from  Max Heieck, 3g-1a from Ryland Dunham and the same from Jack Dunham. Jeremy Askin won 22+/8- = 73% at the faceoff "X".  Alex Garrow gave the Eagles 3g-2a including his 100th career goal, while Tas Strickland added 4g-1a, PJ Ostrowski score 3g-1a, and Mason Michel had 1g-1a. Wayne will finish their regular season hosting Livonia-Avon on Wednesday. Geneva will finish their regular season with a trip to Haverling     [ BOX SCORE

Wayne at GenevaBATAVIA-NOTRE DAME-3 at GANANDA-15 - The Blue Panthers tallied five goals in the first and six in the second quarter to start the break up 11-3. Among the  players scoring for Gananda were Jacob Michaels (5g-1a), Brayden Dohse (1g-4a), Jase Smith (5g), and Mason Groh (2g-2a). Griffin Kiss scored his first Varsity goal in the game. Alex Galka won 17+/2- = 89%, and Roman Hoyser won 2+/1- = 67%. Nick Falso recorded 5s/3ga = 63% (48 mins) in the cage. Scoring for Batavia-Notre Dame were Quintin Cummings (2g), Harold Mellander (1g), and Jon Smith (1a). WATKINS GLEN-4 at BLOOMFIELD-HONEOYE-19 - Junior goalie Ethan Stoddard made five saves including his 300th career save and ended the game with a 71% save day (36 mins). Leading the scoring for Bloomfield-Honeoye (8-7) were Caleb Beadnell (2g-5a), Liam Roach (5g-2a), Jonathan Nelson (2g-3a), and Cody Morse (3g-1a). Wayne at GenevaEAST UNITED-EASTRIDGE-8 at CITY HONORS-9 - The teams had identical scoring 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, and 2-2 in the fourth quarter. City Honors scored in overtime for the win. Senior midfielder Nkodia Ndongala (2a) reached his 400th faceoff wins with his 13 wins and 7 losses (65%). The top of the offensive book included Jahyden Maiorani (5g), Jeremiah Tucker (2a), Josh Verna (1g-1a), and Edward Kelley (1g). Also scoring were Aiden Early (1g-4a), Carter Fabian (2g), and Dominick Sinopoli (1g). Facing off for Greece Storm was junior Carter Fabian with 2+/0- = 100%, and sophomore Eric Odell with 12+/2- = 86%. In the goal for Greece Storm was senior Jonathan Bucciarelli with 14s/2ga = 88% (43 mins). DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - There were five games played today and most were mismatches. Penn Yan led by two goals after three quarters but saw their lead lost when Carthage scored four goals including the game winner with 11 second left in regulation.

Carthage at Penn YanGANANDA-11 at GATES CHILI-4 - The Spartans scored one goal in each quarter, but the Blue Pathers led 8-2 at the half. Leading the scoring for Gananda (4-8) were Brayden Dohse (4g-1a), Jase Smith (2g-3a), Mason Groh (1g-1a) and Jacob Michaels (2g-1a) who reached his 50th career assist in the game. Alex Galka won 12+/5- = 71% at the faceoff "X".  There was no report from Gates Chili at post-time. On Tuesday the Spartans will be at Canandaigua while Gananda plays at Geneva.    [ BOX SCORE]     

CARTHAGE-9 at PENN YAN-8 - Although Carthage scored the first two goals in the game, Penn Yan returned with two goals in less than ten seconds to tie the game. Each team scored another goal leading to s 3-3 tie after one quarter. The Mustangs scored early in the second quarter and then added a second goal to take a two-goal lead before the Comets added another. Carthage at Penn YanThe half ended with Penn Yan up 5-4. At the top of the third the Mustangs increased their lead  for a short time, until Carthage came back with one. Penn Yan ended the third with another goal and led 7-5. The teams traded goals in the first four minutes of the last quarter and then the Comets scored at 5:40 and then a tying goal at 3:06. Both teams had a try for the final goal, but with 11 seconds left in regulation, Carthage scored the game winner. Scoring for Penn Yan (8-4) were Teagan Fingar (3g-1a), Tukker Fisher (2g-2a), Bryant VanHousen (1g-3a), Greyson Hathway (1g), and Braden Fingar (1g). Leading the scoring for Pal-Mac (13-0) were freshman offensiveman Jackson Dennie (4g) and senior offensiveman Keagan Hoesterey (1g-3a) who reached his 150th career assist. Senior goalie Peyton Lich recorded 14s/2ga = 88% (48 mins) and added one goal. Sophomore offensiveman Nikolai Hanna and Sophomore offensiveman Jacob Kershner scored for the Lakers and Senior offensiveman A.J. Peri added an assist. Nine different players made the offensive book including Nkodia Ndongala (4g-1a), John Hart (3g), Jahyden Maiorani (2g-1a), and Jeremiah Tucker (2g-1a). Victor, who beat C-C will play Irondequoit, who beat Brighton. In Class D, Aquinas beat Haverling and will play Newark who beat Mynderse. DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - A four goal streak gave the Knights a 7-6 win over visiting Fairport. HF-L had a big win against Rush-Henrietta. Penfield beat Hilton and Canandaigua, in yet another low scoring game was the 3-2 winner at Thomas. The Saints had and exciting 9-8 win at Greece and Gananda won a 15-13 game against Kearney.

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - It took overtime after seven ties for the Rangers to beat McQuaid Jesuit 10-9. Brighton scored first and never looked back as they beat Aquinas 11-8. An unmatched goal in the fourth quarter was one goal less than the Saints needed as Livonia-Avon won 8-7. Penn Yan has an overtime loss against a strong Lake Shore team from Buffalo and Schroeder held the Hawks scoreless in three quarters for their 5-3 win in Corning.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Once again, there were many mismatches, but there were also some really good games. In the game of the last two unbeaten teams, Canandaigua (9-0) was the last team standing but the Cougars had a strong second half at both ends of the field. Senior A/M Jett Richardsen scored the overtime, game-winning goal for the Royal Comets in this game that could not have been closer with eight ties. Greece took an early lead and held on for their one goal win.

Tuesday: DAY IN REVIEW: Long-time Penfield coach, John Schembri won his 150th game today at the Patriots defeated Churchville-Chili 15-4. Hilton used overtime to beat Thomas with a goal by senior attackman Nicholas Fede. McQuaid won their first series game against Rush-Henrietta. At Pittsford, the Panthers held off late advances by St Joseph and took the 8-7 win. Other winners were HF-L, Schroeder and Brockport who gave their Head Coaches a first win, East-United-Eastridge, Livonia-Avon and Spencerport.
